この小説はファンタジックなSF小説ではありますが、根幹のセオリーについては実際に存在するメカニズムを題材にしています。ゆらぎ（＝カオス）が生命を作るところまでは公知の説となっていますが、僕はさらに踏み込んで、そのメカニズムを理解していただくために簡単な数式を用いています。さらにSF小説の中に盛り込むことによって「知的エンターテイメント」として作り込んだものが小説「数式に記された愛」なんです！
この小説にに登場する数式はまさに自然の根底にあるゆらぎを生み出すメカニズムを単純な数式で表したものです。そしてある条件がそろったときだけ生命を生み出す方向へ進化を担ってくれます。このメカニズムを一度知ると私達のまわりのいろんな現象がこの支配を受けていることがわかり、いかに「自然に逆らわない生き方」が重要であるかが理解できるでしょう。そしてこの自然の法則から「愛とは」「試練とは」他にも「私達の生きる指針やあるべき姿」までを見出していただけると思います。よかったら書店や通販などで手に入れてみてください！
